For a metal shop, September is the month of new beginnings: the machines start up again after the summer break, fall orders come in and we look ahead. But it is also the right moment to look back for a second and remember where we come from. In our office there is a gilded frame that does exactly that every day: the San Giuseppe d’Oro 2025 award.

An honor from our community

The San Giuseppe d’Oro (“Golden Saint Joseph”) is the civic honor with which the Municipality of Pellegrino Parmense recognizes those whose commitment contributes to the life of the local community. It is named after Saint Joseph, the town’s patron saint and a symbol of everyday work, done steadily and without fanfare.

On March 23, 2025, the Town Council chose to present it to Ottavio and Luca Corinti, the father and son who lead LY-CO, with this citation: “for their intergenerational commitment and their active contribution to the economic and employment growth of the area and the community of Pellegrino Parmense”.

Two generations, one shop

That word, intergenerational, says a lot about who we are. LY-CO was founded in 1964 as a small craft workshop and has since been handed down from father to son, growing into a structured company with a qualified team. Each generation has brought something: the experience and attention to detail of those who started it, and the new technology and openness to new markets of those who took over.

That balance shows in every job, where laser cutting and precision bending work side by side with the expert eye of welders with decades of experience. And it shows in how we look ahead: this very month our website went live in English, to introduce us beyond Italy’s borders.

Work for our region

The award also speaks about jobs and growth. Being a manufacturing company in the Apennine mountains means creating skilled jobs where they are needed and working with companies across the region, including automotive leaders such as Dallara Automobili. For us, that is a commitment before it is an achievement.

Back to work, with the same passion

Every morning that frame reminds us that a company’s value is also measured by its bond with the community it works in. It is in this spirit that we reopened the shop at the end of August and are taking on this fall’s projects. Even machines need to stop every now and then. And the people who run them even more so. In these weeks our shop in Pellegrino Parmense is taking its summer break: a moment to recharge, spend time with our families and come back to work with the focus that precision metalwork demands.

Back on Monday, August 31

Production will resume at full speed on Monday, August 31, 2026. From day one we will be fully operational on all our services: light metal fabrication, laser cutting, sheet metal bending, TIG and MIG welding, surface treatments and finishing.

A fall to plan together
